When Should AI be Used at Schools?

With Elliot & Stella

Do AI powered tools enhance learning?

I think it has both benefits and challenges. It really depends on the person. I think it should be allowed because is that can teach his cal't do everything and then I really think it especially when you're overwhelmed with something, it's just there that you can look up and especially when Google isn't isn't being handy. And you can like adjust it to your pace and your needs and yeah, it just provides like instant information back that really helps, really, really helps me, especially when I'm stressed.

No, I was just going to go but it has challenges like people just taking benefits and it's just creating bad habits. So it really depends on the person using it. I think we've kind of got to identify what sort of AI we're talking about because if it's a type of AI, they hopes you study such as it comes up with a pop quiz about your notes. I'm not saying not, okay Continue continue okay um but if you're using AI to copy past into every single assignment and um, then it's not that create like only get AS have the right um I also think we're we're not thinking you're just thinking from the student perspective, but I actually think and more teachers are using it because in school also accounts for the teachers It would help the question No, it's .

Yeah, I guess as people just it's just like people start relying on it too much and then use it for every every single sentence. I guess it would that would be worse for later on on when you don't have it in the future and you need to use your creativity. So I'm glad that we already have that creativity in us that it's not like if we weren't to use it would be stuck which many people would be.

Can AI prevent creativity?

It gave me a framework and I was able to build off of that and but I also think it can really it can take that away from you because you're not having to come up with ideas for and in just two seconds you'll just be able to be able to find like a million different options. Yeah it's really a good question but also a weird question because it's it's both like it can like it sparks and like spark party right and go, oh, that's really creat about this party also can just make you become raz and just okay that's really good.

And it's just not making your brain work. Because every time something becomes a bit difficult, you just end up using AI. Anyways, that's kind of what we're about to go into.

What uses of AI should be okay?

I think it would be like like you said, quizzes. I think that's really, really handy revision types of revision. Um Another one, I think of editing like editing softwares if it tells you what's wrong and it may be like you like editing softwares, even editing softwares to use AI sometimes. Um and IR is also really good to the people that disabilities. Like, you know, the AI is that controllable to you, I understand.

I think using AI images and videos and stuff to like add to your projects just to make them look nicer, fine as well. Um and I think what's not okay is pretty much the the only real issue with it is when you're using it and you're copy and pasting and you're not reading or learning like there's actually no point of even bothering with the assignment if you're just using AI because you're not learning anything and that's the point of schools.

If students can’t use AI, should teachers?

Like someone I don't that's okay because I know teachers but we've got like have you seen this things that's got I'm teach to say I've got classes too. They didn't when they were a student, but I don't think it's fair because it's their job.

So a teacher will use a can or some can use AI to write the entire task sheet, the entire test to just put it into AI and grade the assignments. Create the whole class plan and they can just get the students to read off a off a document. And then they practically aren't doing anything of their job and AI is nowhere near perfect.

So usually it won't make complete sense. It will not actually match what they needed to learn. Yeah, and it will confuse the students and it's clearly AI and so they know that you're using it so . Um.

Overall, is AI a positive thing?

I think AI isn't really the best thing because it's oversimplifying everything in life and making everything so easy and you don't want your future doctors using AI to pass all their tests because most people use it either not the way you're not supposed to. And so they don't actually do any of their own work or read anything.

What will AI look like at school in 10 years?

Oh, that's a good question. Um I think it's just going to keep improving and become so subtle that everyone uses it for everything. And um, yeah, it'll sound identical to human writing and it'll be impossible to tell what students are actually doing their assignments.
